As the chief prosthetist with Otto Bock USA I had opportunities to fit some of the latest new components as they became available in the US market. With the 3R21 knee joint I was able to fit one of my former clients from my days with the Winkley Company. In the past I had fit her numerous times with outside knee joints and wooden shin prosthesis. This then is her first cosmetic prosthesis.

  • People have to realise that she has a knee disartic. Its not just a trans - tibial amputation. She has a prosthetic knee and the loss of the knee joint makes her gate all the more amazing...I know, I have the same K.D. amputation, and I have a better and newer knee. But she still walks better than me!!

  • duuhjkkbjk,

Sorry, but it can be seen, ya gotta really observe, tho'! :-)

I agree with you about her "showing it off a bit"!

  • Excellent knee,excellent prothesis,excellent going !

  • This is really interesting. I liked the music. What I took from it is that she can do basic everyday things just like anyone else. I think there's a perception that this is impossible. Clearly anything is possible. Technology in general evolves so fast. It's mind-blowing.
