Hi everyone! I'm not dead (yet), just needed to take a brake from designing for a while. This is an Intamin Mega-Lite named Flyrant. What is a Flyrant, you ask? Well, Flyrant is a nickname for a Warhammer 40K Tyranid Hive Tyrant with wings, since it is a Flying Tyrant. The color of the track/supports matches the colors of my fictional and comedic Hive Fleet Box Elder Bug while the colors of the three trains match the colors of the main Hive Fleets to enter our galaxy: Hive Fleet Beheamoth, Hive Fleet Kraken, and Hive Fleet Leviathan. Technically, the seats on Beheamoth (blue train) should be red, but unfortuneatly, NL doesn't allow that degree of customization.

This ride was made 95% in Newton 2 using the Quaternion orientation instead of Euler. The turnaround into the station was made in Elementary.

Anyway, some stats:

Height: 181 feet
Drop: approx 165 ft
Speed: 69 MPH
Length: 4273.45 ft
Trains: Three 7-car Intamin Hyper Trains

Tunnel Tested (Pass!)

Background Music is One Winged Angel (aka Sephiroth's Theme from FF7)

  • Cool ride but you should change the colors

  • Read the video description, please.

  • Does Newton 2 fix the issue with lift hill crests and them resulting in awkward pumps?

  • Yes. Newton 2 has several features that help. One is the curved geometry segment. It can be used to make the up and down bends on lift hills. It works similar to the HSAK wizard for elementary, but is more limited in its use. There is a straight geometry segment now as well, which basically makes a straight segment that can have roll. It is best for stations, brakes, and the lift. Finally, multi-force zones allow for separate timezones for Roll/Vert/Lateral, just like the FVD wizards.

  • How Did You Get Newton 2? Were You A Tester? If Not, How Did You Get Newton 2 When It Is Not Out Yet? Please Help!

  • I was a tester of the program.

  • how did you get the ride to be so SMOOTH???

  • Yeah, it stinks you can only change the body color of a train when you have mutiple with different colors. Really fantastic job though.
