I'm still trying to figure out a pick that I like-any suggestions? and a little flub on the end - oh well.

  • I really am enjoying listening and watching you play.

Is it tuned like a fiddle??

  • Why, yes it is, John.... I find it very intuitive to play; and thanks so much for all your wonderful comments!

  • Sounds so nice on the mandolin! I usually play it way faster but I like it slow too:-)

  • Thanks, maybe when I've played the mando for way longer than 6 months, I'll play it faster, too. ;-)

  • I like little flubs. They keep it real, and they keep me on my toes as a listener. Too smooth and I go right to sleep. That's why I like vocal harmonies that are a little bit rough around the edges, too. Like The Band. You can really hear the harmonizing happening, not just a polished product. So, I can hear the music being made here, and it's nice.

  • I like the flubs, too... Making music shouldn't be about being professional, it should be about joy! (even if the song is sad) Thanks for your lovely words -

    God Bless

    Jan

  • I play mandolin as well and really like this song. I have been playing for only 1 year so know the challenges when learning. Great job!

  • Hi Jan. I couldn't agree with you more!!!

    Wonderfully put.

  • That's awesome for only six months! I gave up long B4 that cause of my darned fat fingers.

  • Great Pickin'!

  • ohhhh i think this is just wonderful again Jan! and have no advice or tips..........i havent not a clue my dear! very nice crisp clear sound.....just like i was sitting right there!!

  • Thats a fine Jig Jan. I use medium picks when I flatpick. Thin ones when I just strum.
