@pershing22 According to Wikipedia, his father came to the U.S. in 1923 and Tom was born in Detroit about ten years later. His father was also a car designer and worked on the Lincoln Zephyr. My point was that people tend to think Italian cars are all designed by Italians. And in my book, Tom was an American of Dutch descent.

Correct, but tom Tjaarda was a Born Dutchmen before he moved to the U.S.

@bangcamaro226 They use the 351 Cleveland High Output exactly like my 70 mustang!! 11.7:1 compression and huge valves equal loads of power. Ive done ported heads and cams with the stock 4 barrel intake and Im pushing 600 flywheel hp!!!

For you Canadian donut lovers out there, NHL great Tim Horton was driving one of these down the QEW, on his way back to Buffalo, after a Sabres/Leafs tilt in which he left the game after the second period. He crashed his car in single vehicle accident, and died as result of being ejected from the Pantera. Speed & alcohol consumption were said to be factors in the accident. I watched the game and was stunned to learn of his death the following morning on the news.

American built engine, Italian build body, German Built transmission.

The Pantera was actually designed by an American, Tom Tjaarda, who also designed the Fiat 124 Spyder. Construction was by Ghia.

@Deepsr - They had the boss version of the 351 Cleveland...

@hipcat13 he is the greatest car builder ever! cars like these shouldnt have to be "safe" there built for power, style and excitement not protecting silly pedestrians, one of the reasons i love tvr's, you can have fun but screw with it and ital kill you, knowing that your living on the edge is a thrill you nolonger get with modern sports cars.
Lambo? (description). This is a italian car and like a old Lambo (the Jalpa) but is a Detomaso (i call them DTM). Awesome sound!
