This is my blue front Amazon Parrot named Sam. Every since I brought this cat home Sam has bonded with her. Sam flies around the house looking for her. Or she will go sit on his cage waiting for Sam to groom her.

it doesn't matter how long they know each other. Leave the cat without food for just one day and see what happens

  • It must be a kind of primal urge. I took in a baby jackdaw that had fallen from its nest and my Orange Wing proceeded to preen it!

  • thank you for the massage, ....let's eat now !!!

  • Daily dose of pleasure given. Thou may leave without being eaten.... for now....

  • don't pay attention to all of the naysayers, it's nice that these two get along. I have an african grey and 3 cats, which I don't leave unsupervised of course, but my grey does yell at my cats all of the time- knows each one by name and everything. She does share her peanuts with my one cat, throws them on the floor for him. Each family is different, and the interaction between cats & birds CAN be cute if you're careful! nice video!

  • Nice birdy to clean the kitty. :)

  • and this morning, my bird purposely called the cat over to him just so he could pull his whiskers out and laugh. My cat started crying and ran to me. "who needs children when I've got you two..."

  • aw!! I wish my cat and my bird got along like that!! My pets like to mess with each other all the time. I can't trust them at all together. Just the other day my cat snuck over to my bird's cage and pulled his tail feathers while he was sleeping just enough to piss him off. I watched him do it and in the blink of an eye he was across the room like "I didn't do nothing to the bird...he's crazy..." meanwhile the bird's got his feathers flattened, his crest up like "wtf was that!!"

  • LOL...he's preening the cat. Welp, they're bonded! Nicely done!

  • Awww, that is so sweet! It can be dangerous to leave birds and cats together, even with supervision, but clearly these two know each other and are comfortable enough around one another that it's not a problem. True they still shouldn't be left alone together without someone keeping an eye on them, but with someone there just in case I don't think it's dangerous at all.
