    PoetryCarvedInFlesh...

Director John Carpenter was a big fan of the original 1951 " The Thing (From Another World)" starring James Arness. His re-make was indeed a beautiful tribute to the original film. He had lovingly taken the original concept...adding modern special effects thus, making the film his very own.

Yes I concur, the entire film from beginning to end was mind-blowing. I must take a look at it again. Thanks for your comprehensive review!:)

    Peace,

    Max

  • The Thing is the best sci-fi horror film ever, in my opinion. They'll never be able to remake a better version.

  • Looks like a good movie!

  • Hi

    Elvis...

Yes,John Carpenter is a big fan of 1950's science fiction and horror films. As a matter of fact,in his seminal film,"Halloween",one can see the original "The Thing From Another World" playing on the tele. He had done a brilliant tribute to the original with the 1982 re-make...the alien was quite different from the original one as portrayed by James Arness...and much more gruesome!!!!

    Thanks for the review.:)

    Pax,
