You know, I enjoy reading the comments of the Alto/Ranka fans here (specifically BleachOD) because booooy, they were so arrogant and full of themselves (and shit) claiming that their ship was the canon one while Alto/Sheryl was just fanon and spreading it like it were the truth. And now that the love triangle is over (showing to everyone that Alto loves Sheryl and vice versa), I take delight in their tears, whines and sour-graping. Alto/Ranka fans...a classy bunch...

@thethessaliah Seems... logical if you ask me, lol. But maybe there will be some extra scenes on the DVD/ bluray? You know, hope dies last. It's not that I don't like endings like that, but seeing my favorite characters suffering and knowng that there will be no chance for them to be reunited again makes me depressed. Kawamori sure knows how to troll his characters... and his fans. I mean, even if it's predictable it's always something different when you actually watch the movie, imo.

@xXxValfarisxXx The ending was... predictable as soon as the interview screamed Alto/Sheryl BITTERSWEET. But we weren't sure WHO was going MIA this time in the male centered love triangle.

The first time: the three.

The second: the lovers.

The third one: the hero.

@thethessaliah Waaah... then... the ending was actually predictable? Darn you, Kawamori, lol. Do you think it's rather good or bad that he uses the same patterns over and over again? Many fans are complaining that torturing his characters is mean and such. But I think the way the ending is presented is also important. I don't know if I would have liked a sugarcoated happy ending if it had been presented badly. Seems it was more of a "enjoy the ride" sort of movie than an "enjoy the ending" one.

@xXxValfarisxXx Sorry, I should have clarified. The entire original triangle became MIA, nobody heard about them after that. Shin and Sara Nome, the lovers of Zero, became MIA too with the same fate. It's a pattern. Kawamori said this movie was connected to Zero.

@xXxValfarisxXx I don't think Alto will return... sadly, because no one who got lost ever returned in Macross. I think Sheryl will wake up, eventually, though, and is connected with Alto through the earring.
