Motorcycle engines and snowmobile engines were not made for pulling. It's obvious. I think I saw a few 3 cyl yanmars in this vid and it appears to me they were the best pullers.

@DieselnutN14 they may not be made for pulling but they are fun to watch my friend the 2nd puller is working on puting a rotarty engine from a rx7

In the seventeen when someone got the idea of putting two stroke snowmobile engine with variable transmission in dragrace motorcycle , their superiority in the quarter mile made them illegal and then new regulation forbid such automatic transmission in ET braket race ... too much constancy

@3Jx yes you can put v8 in tractors we have one and we use the car drive line the tranny rearend cluh our trans is bolted up to the for 9 inch

@DieselnutN14 I think your generalizing quite a bit. Snowmobile engines are excellent for pulling. Mines over 200 HP and 120 lbs torque. Plus they shift out as your going down the track.
