i just finished learning from him at a Jazz Camp. Hes a great teacher as well as a beastly trombonist

I seen Rick the other night playing with Charles Goodwin Orchestra in the northeast TN area and he is amazing! I never cared much for a trombone until I heard him play and like someone said below...he is a very humble guy. Very Impressive.

rick is the man...i guess i know since he was my band director in elizabethton tennessee for 3 yrs in junior high and the assistant band director at EHS my 4 years there. saw all of his concerts.

Assuming that you are all trombonists and know what it takes to be able to play like that...I hope we all can agree that his playing here (in HIS CADENZA) is pretty virtuosic.

Look, fellas...he is playing a cadenza (In music, a cadenza (Italian for cadence) is, generically, an improvised or written-out ornamental passage played or sung by a soloist or soloists, usually in a "free" rhythmic style, and often allowing for virtuosic display.
