Hey guys, guess what?!! A SEWING TUTORIAL! Its been months since I've done a sewing tutorial (partly because they're super hard to film and edit). As you guys might know, I taught myself how to sew. So I want to teach you guys what I know. I've gotten a ton of requests and I'm finally coming around to fulfilling them now. I hope that you guys enjoy this project & have fun recreating this skirt! If you do, please please post a video response or a picture :) I recently submitted this video into SWalkerMakeup's contest. I'm really excited to share my tutorial with you guys. I think this video best represents my abilities and my channel. At the root of all the gorgeous clothing and fashion in this world, there are the designers.

Materials Needed:
- Ruler
- Scissors
- Measuring Tape
- Chalk
- Sewing Machine /or Needle and Thread
- 1 yard of Fabric (of your choice)
(You can even use fabric from a XL T-shirt)

Time: 45 minutes - 1.5 hours

  • how do you take your measurements??

  • @julioschica I measure my waist, and the length I want the skirt.

  • Hi, I have some material which I bought especially to make a flared skirt. I have absolutely no idea how to do this. It's going to pouf out at the bottom as I want to put some mesh type material to get that effect.

Pls can you make a tut on how to make this sort of skirt. I'd be so grateful. :)

  • @zialovescupcakes like a tutu type skirt?

  • I'll definitely try this when i get my sewing machine fixed.

You should make a tutorial, of this pleated skirt, with a v-neck, or a scoop shirt sewn onto it, to make it into a casual dress. would look very simple, and gorgeous.

  • @TheSweetSpotShop That's a good idea. I like making separate pieces because I like to mix and match my clothes. Thank you for watching

  • I didn't understand what you were doing in the inside. Can u please elaborate? -.-

  • if i want instead of same fabric waist band a black elastic waist skirt ? is that possible just to switch the waist band ??

  • hey! do you measure your waist and then half it because the fabric is folded in half.

  • @chickypoo1012 ok thank you! :)

  • I think we're the same size.... even easier for me! (: haha

  • @unseen161 In this video it looks like she is using a stretch jersey knit fabric (like a stretch t shirt fabric), I would recommend using a any fabric with a decent amount of stretch unless you add a zipper instead of just a fabric waistband.

  • Hi, I'm a garments student but I'm just a begginer..

I am looking videos about skirts and I found yours.. I want to ask..

What type of fabric do you think is best for this type of skirt? Thank you and Love yoour vid!!

  • Can you do a tutorial like this, but with a skirt with pockets?

  • @iHongKongg i just noticed this, but i think she is wearing the skirt she made in the intro picture. not sure though :D

  • cho chang..
