"Two Little Windows".
John Reynder's Dance Orchestra.
Recorded London, April 1934.

The Octacros label issued by the Synchraphone Co.
This little known dance band gives a good rendition of this instrumental tune which I have also heard recorded by Charlie Kunz Casani Club Orchestra and Jack Hylton's bands.

For dance bands without a recording contract or smaller provincial oufits, the Octacros label would prove to be a way in to the recording studios.

  • What a gem, both musically and in terms of its rarity. How did you come across the 78?

  • These later one,s are not rare,it,s the earlier orange and white one,s.

  • Excellent! This orchestra surely is hardly known, but so good.

  • Ah,the very rare octacross!Heard as people entered and left all those 30s cinemas i suppose?I think John Reynder was the conductor on the "Harmony Heaven"clip on here.
