Living a fresh and healthy lifestyle? Missing things like decadent candy? Here's a recipe that will make you forget all about those high-fructose corn syrup-laden bars in their tacky plastic packaging. We've taken candy to a whole other place with the addition of powerful superfoods like maca, he shou wu, and raw chocolate. It's SuperCandy! These bars will not only satisfy the naughtiest sweet tooth, they'll give you an enduring lift that old-school candy can't match!

This post has not been approved by the FDA. SuperCandy is not intended to treat, cure, diagnose or prevent any illness, but it tastes great and may make you feel awesome....

Caramaca-Chocolate SuperCandyMakes
8-16 bars

Walnut crust layer:
1 1/2C walnuts
1/2C dates, chopped
1t vanilla
Dash of sea salt
Caramaca layer
1/4C carob (un-roasted)
1/4C maca powder
3/4C agave syrup or honey
2T cold-pressed flax oil
1t cinnamon
1/2t sea salt

Power chocolate layer:
1 1/2C raw chocolate powder
1/2C coconut butter (not oil!)or substitute your favorite nut butter
3/4C agave syrup
1-2T He Shou Wu (add more if you like!)
1t vanilla
Dash of sea salt

Blend all crust layer ingredients in food processor until cohesive, but still chunky. Press into bottom of small loaf pan. In a small bowl, whisk all caramaca ingredients together until a saucy consistency is reached. Pour caramaca over walnut layer and place in freezer while making the chocolate layer. In cleaned food processor, blend all chocolate layer ingredients until a nice fudgy consistency is reached. Press chocolate evenly over the caramaca layer and return pan to the freezer for about 1 hour to firm. Cut into squares or bars and enjoy!

Feel super!

  • Love your videos! I want to make this candy but I got red maca and it tastes and smells like rear-hind. I've tried covering it up with all kinds of stuff but nothing works. Is white maca not so nasty?

  • was that a BART train?

  • Flax killed my dog she went crazy chewed up a telephone wire had profuse elimination. It was in a canned dog food sold by sams club. I found out it was a male hormone after some baseball players were convicted of steroids. The manufactuer sent us a condolences letter. This was eight years ago. Just because something is natural doesn't make it good for you. I like your production you should be on foodnetwork.

  • We suggest simply omitting the He Shou Wu. It's a nearly impossible flavor to duplicate. Further, it's in this recipe more as a health factor than a taste factor. It'll still be great, just less a few antioxidants.

  • totally cute. wonderful presentation! yummy yum yummers!

  • i respect cinnamon, greatly! lolMMmm!

  • Thank you luv thats cool here in Australia we find it hard to get some ingredients we need for Raw food Hey I might try China town next time im in Sydnety Thanks again

  • Hey hopey2540, Tanja here. You can actually just omit the He Shou Wu if you can't find it. It's really only in there because it makes you feel good, and the candy should be just as effective without it! : )

    Thanks for the love!

  • What if you cant get hold of He Shou Wu? What can we substitute it with? and yes love the hair! Candy looks fantastic !!!!

  • I love the hair! :)
