Scope of Work:
Plant on style wainscot throughout main living area. Custom cabinetry of entertainment wall unit with shelving. Installation of 71/4" crown moulding, 51/4" baseboards, 4" MDF beadboard, 41/2" chair rail, 3" door casing, 51/2" tongue and groove walls and 51/4" colonial crown.
Chris and his wife had just purchased a new home for their family in Fountain Valley, California. As they were expecting a new baby, we had a unique time frame to meet in a house that was completely stripped down to drywall and concrete. We began with installed 71/4" crown moulding in all rooms, including the vaulted ceilings. Most windows were cased in a 3" casing. All doors were cased in matching casing. We installed 4" on center beadboard with chair-rail in the baby's room. Downstairs powder bath was finished in 51/2" tongue and groove which was run from floor to ceiling with 51/4" colonial crown moulding. We installed a plant-on style wainscot throughout the downstairs living area. This was accomplished by skinning the wall and installing 21/1" casing to create squares. We installed a custom-built entertainment center in the family room. We finished the house off with 51/4" baseboards throughout. my recessed paneling is 1/2 mdf with 1/2 over that for my stile and rails and then just a little 3/4 ct molding afterwards.

Installing casing on top of 1/4" MDF is not wainscoting.. But I guess if your customer doesn't know its ok?
