It's a TV show...for teens...it's not really there to be judged.

I'm just sayin'. Plus, in 1993, this song, and album (for the most part) were kind of blowing up. I don't think it's awkward at all. The only thing that's really odd is the character's terribly scripted reactions.

i can't believe my comment was from 3 years ago. where has the time gone! i digress... ben folds' version is much slicker. but you may prefer the older, more raw version from the lips. in any case, i stand by what i said about the venue - and how inappropriate it was for it. a big ball of awkwardness.

1) Ben Folds' cover of this song is 10x better than The Flaming Lips version. Check it out.

2) Given the venue, this song is totally awkward and inappropriate. I'm surprised Steve Sanders didn't go out into the parking lot and run himself over with his Vette.
