A video that describes a concern for the future loss of the Tahltan language. This video was completed at the University of Alberta and was made to not only bring awareness to the importance of language within Aboriginal culture and identity, but to wrap up my time spent in Edmonton by giving thanks to the Cree nation and showcasing some of the things I've learned while obtaining my degree here over the past three years.
Its easy to get the language back....1. Learn the words through available text and learning materials. 2. Practice with a fluent speaker and thank them for their time. (Repeat). The hard part is actually doing this but I believe it has to come from an individual "want" for it to be successful and then hopefully everyone becomes truly motivated with this individual "want" and BAM language is saved once a few people hold it down. Any volunteers? I will I am 27 years old and I'll help.
