A quick how to on rounding the corners of an existing image. Using Photoshop CS3.
1. Create a blank image the same size of your old image.
2. Create a shape in the size and shape you would like.
3. Rasterize the shape layer.
4. Use the magic wand to select the shape.
5. Open your original image and select all.
6. Then choose "Paste Into" for the edit menu.
7. Delete the "background" layer on your new image.
8. Done.

  • does this work for photoshop elements?

  • @TheDinozRule It should, but as I have never used Elements I can't offer any promises.

  • hi i maaged to make the rounded corners easy thanks so much, but when i save the image and paste elsewhere, I also see the square corners of the back "layer" which is the grey and white checkered texture, which i thought indicated there was no background... hopefully someone actually gets what i'm saying coz i dont think i was clear enuff... any ideas appreciated. great video though!

  • How did you save the file, only PNG and GIF allow for transparent backgrounds if you used any other format like JPG or TIFF you will see the background layer.

  • thankss. but why does it still have the white background?

  • If you follow all of the directions it should not, however if it still does then after you dubble click the background layer do a select all then press delete.
