Is this guy for real - he sounds like he has a bad case of village atheist syndrome.
There are many factors that are still a research issue within the macro/micro evolution and origin of life debate. Most scientists don't really know how life came to be. Even Stanley Miller, whose experiments are cited in most biology text books, says that the origin of life is still unknown. The idea that dead material can come to life all by itself is not consistent with scientific observation.

@psycotria Your statement is actually proven by the bible.
The apple represented knowledge, and the pursuit of which was seen as sin.
AKA: Learn more, go to hell.

To really understand Evolution, there are many other areas one must also have at least basic understanding of.
To really, really, really believe in Creationism, one need not KNOW or Understand much at all. The Less, the Better!
The more scientifically literate one is, the less likely one to believe Gods & Creationism.

@co2isgoodal Correction, "biological evolution" (there are multiple evolutionary theories for different things; you certainly didn't mean cosmological evolution, since while that DID at one point challenge the church, the vast majority of theists have since come to accept that the earth isn't 6000 years old and at the center of the universe) is a scientific theory (theories aren't less than facts, they are greater than them...) that required a law to circumvent idiots decreeing things contrary.
