Illegal aliens are not a race they are people that are illegally in our country and should not be paid benefits for violating our laws. Legal immigrants are also not a race but should be afforded benefits as allowed by law. There must be an incentive for people to obey the laws of our Country.

@quillerm Yes, go after the poor folks looking for work, but leave the employers alone who hire them. That's our policy here in the US. On one hand we hire these people because we like cheap produce and cheap labor, but the politicians like to grandstand and make racist comments about those same workers while they do nothing to solve the problem by cracking down on employers.

How truthful would that have been?

We have a very real problem with illegal immigration in the US and the problem is with illegal immigration from Mexico. Not Poland or Norway.

@Markus77x7 In the past we've had way more immigration than we do now. And when the Irish, Germans and Italians were flooding into the country, the same bigoted voices of hatred said the same bigoted crap about them too.

Lying about immigration and misinforming people about the issue isn't going to solve the problem. If we really wanted to solve the problem we could, just crack down on people hiring them - that's it. Prices of food would skyrocket, but that's the price to pay.

Oh yeah, because they don't want to solve it, they just want to use it to play on white people's fear of brown people. It's the same with abortion and gays - they're wedge issues that the party needs to get people to vote for their candidates. They can't campaign on what they're really doing while in office - that doesn't sell.
