  • If you don't know the whole story, then it's best to remain quiet about the issue. I'm divorced, and unless you knew the details, you might condemn me. I happened to have the one biblical "loophole" in my situation, just so you'll know. If we knew all of each other's details, we wouldn't want to worship together or call each other brother/sister, because we are ALL sinners. Our details haven't been in magazines or newspapers. Is she worthless? No. Can she minister? If you can, she can!

  • I have followed Amy's music and life for years-followed too closely. I divorced my "sorry" husband after Amy divorced Gary because I SO BELIEVED that she, like David, had the heart of God. We, too, were in Christian counseling for many years. I take complete responsibility for my actions, allowing myself to be deceived. But, unlike Amy, I have been unable to "kiss the past good-bye," (Amy's quote). Now, my former husband is dead. I have traveled beyond the long arm of the Lord.

  • Debbie, there is no one who is beyond the arm of the Lord. (Isaiah 50:2) We have all been deceived, but we can also be redeemed. God can use you, and he can use me! Does it mean we can remain where we were serving before we fell? Maybe not, we might need to step away and examine ourselves and scripture to know how to move on. Guilt is a tool of Satan to keep you where you are. Step out of that, and into forgiveness! God Bless You.

  • You wouldn't be much of a pastor that I'd put any confidence in thats for sure, not everything is a question of finding fault ,but someone applies discernment on Christian issues, then its narrowed down to someone's mere opioion or finding fault. I get tired of so-called Christains making excuses for thing obviously against prinicples of Gods word, calling light darkness and darkness light ,

    Isaiah 5:20 (King James Version)

  • We have all been ungrateful to God at some point or another. How blessed are we to have Him who forgives if we are truly repentant. Music is a gift to be anjoyed and used to worship The Lord. Unfortunately (along with fame) it has been the downfall of many Christians. I believe alot of worship music these days is compromised with the world and just an excuse for an artist to get personal recognition. Amy Grant like us all will one day face her Creator and have to give an account of her life.

  • 4 Amish people were watching this on a Heathen's borrowed laptop.

  • The Lord himself said to whom much is given, much is required. She was given a gift, apparently thought it was to glorify her, and her whole world came tumbling down.

  • I was kind of "through" with Amy Grant when I saw her interviewed several years ago (I believe pre-Vince Gill) on, I believe, Entertainment Tonight, where she rolled her eyes and said that people will always associate her with Christian music. I thought to myself, "how ungrateful to God." However, I now understand her wanting to get out of the box that the worship music she performed placed her in. Still, I think it was a bad and disrespectful attitude for someone on such a high platform.

  • @Crinwa You are so wrong about that, I have known Amy since the 70's, and I know alot of people who also know her from way back then. God wanted Amy to be known for His glory, and He would have made it happen even if she had never had the 'goofy pop fluff' thing happen. He knows how to expose His glory through those who are obedient, and Amy is definitely an obedient child of God, open to what He wants!

  • @elbabalao Don't let this video fool you. About a year ago, I actually met Amy while I was jogging in the woods at Percy Warner Park in Belle Meade, TN. She was out there just hiking all by herself. She barely had any make up on and she looked just as beautiful as ever. We chatted for a few minutes. Anyway, I've seen her up close and she is aging quite well, trust me.

  • I know what it's like, I'm divorced and remarried, and copped alot of critisism from my former church, hiting I was some sort of self-centred feminist etc, but sometimes a bad marriage can be so unbearable, even it there's no adultery or physical abuse, and after countless attempts to change things and going to Christian counselling, it's either live a miserable life or get out and save your sanity. I turned away from the church for years, but am slowly coming back now.

  • Amy, I doubt you will read this, since you said you stay away from comments, etc. that is said about you, but I just want you to know that I think you are a very smart & wise woman!! I believe you have handled all the critism said about you, in a very mature way! Just to let you know, ever since the 80's, if I heard someone critisize you, I always have stood up for you!! I have always admired you and for the fact that you are not afraid to be original, especially amongst the most critical!!

  • Don't knock your 'goofy pop fluff' Amy, without chart-topping "Baby, Baby" and the like, no one would know who you are.

  • poor amy is looking haggard these days...
