  • Being a Sport, Mine came stock with 3.23's . Yes It did make a huge difference, Took a while to get use to the way it shifts now, but I have 71 k on it now and its still great.

  • what is the best transmission to put in a crown vic other than the revised stock one?

  • @halo2snipers Sorry m,an, For automatics this is about the best one, You can install a 5 speed swap. but the transmissions are kinda weak. So if you have alot of power, Better stick with an automatic.

  • I took em out.

  • Get a chevy Rockford

  • I got a GMC 1/2 ton and a 2002 ZR2

  • @halo2snipers You could also do a 4R75W swap(already standard on 06+ Crown Vics), which is the slightly stronger version of the 4R70W that comes on these cars, but a rebuilt version of either will be about the same in terms of durability so you if anything, you should just rebuild the 4R70W using the J-Mod and other things Jerry describes in his 4R70W rebuild manual

  • i have a 1997 thunderbird lx v6 with the 4r70w does anyone know where i can find the gaskets or the part number for them? also did you remove the bottom springs or leave them in and which would you reccomend?

  • I have a 99 crown Vic with the 3:55 gears. What does yours have in it? And did the jmod make a big diff? I will be doing mine soon what should I expect? Harder shifts? My car shift pretty good now but I'm hoping this just adds to it.

  • @CSXRockford thanx because i have a 99 p71 crown vic and i want something stronger than the stock one.

  • When you did the Jmod, did you take the accumulator springs out or leave them in?

  • I have an 04 crown vic and I want 2 do the jmod but I don't no thr steps 2 do it can u tell me
