  • This is what the howl should sound like . . . HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL

  • Hate to disappoint, but NO howl here..

  • @FilmBart Sorry, maar hier is geen howl te horen. En ja, ik heb hem in het echt al bezig gezien, met howl, en als je hem hoort, ken je hem.

  • @xh558able There has been discussion on this. I think you can hear it, as has been commented earlier on, there are 3 sounds. The whistel from the engines and than very shortly the howl and than the engine roar as she passes. I agree that it is better to be heard at take-off, but it can be heard here as well. (The speaker also mentioned it later on btw)

  • Ik hoor geen howl. Alleen geraas.

  • WOW.

  • Of course I'm old enough to remember them in service, followed by many shows 558 did as part of the Vulcan Display Team! ;-)

  • I thought so as well, I seem to clearly hear it in this video and the commentator also mentioned the howl.

  • Of course you hear it during flight!... my god.. that's when it's at it's BEST! It sounds like a rutting dinosaur.... like something off Jurassic park!. I feel sorry for you if you've never heard it. See my video response!

  • You'll only ever hear the famous Vulcan howl during her takeoff run, not during flight. Nice video though! ;-)

  • That's not the howl. It's just regular engine roar.

  • Three sounds there, the whistle of the engines themselves, the resonant howl from the intakes, and the wonderful roar of the exhausts! Fantastic!! :)
