Internet down? Amateur Radio, also known as "ham radio" can pass text, data, voice and pictures with nothing between the hams but air. When other systems get blocked, fail or overloaded, hams can get the message through.

  • --- sorry for the typos--- I was laughing...

  • Haaaa ha ha! This was fun, well done and true! Losing an ISP - OK, so what, we hams still chat with friends, access e-mail from outside of the efected area to an ISP hundres or even thousands of miles away - routine stuff. Im my case - BEING a 'Grand Dad' myself, I can still send message traffic in Morse code if you like. However, PC to PC over ham frequencies is especially good when everyone else is trying to find a hot spot for their phones... Been 'there' and done 'that' many times.

  • a maul dropper mobile with a big dc 5000 watt amp can stop a ham radio, TEST TEST TEST ONE ONE ONE IN DA CORNER WITH THE BIG DC MOBILE CB AND IM GETTIN UP! BREAK BREAK! When channel 6 keys up the maul gets droppped on yall hammy hams!
