I loved this show as a kid. Too bad they killed it when it had so much potential. They did the same thing to Firefly, and tried to kill Babylon 5 repeatedly.

Apparently the good shows with actual plot, developed characters, and well-written stories are unpopular. Bring on American Idol 23 and Big Brother 29!

this is one of those shows that could have been so good, if they had just given it a chance. and it was forever ruined by a never resolved cliffhanger. i HATE it when they do that to shows

i remember this when it was first on sky 2 in the uk, i was 10 years old and every sat or sunday evening me and mum would watch this. neither of us like sci fi etc but i remember this series well.

the thin aliens with the sticks were cool, but also those big-arse ones as well

The spiritual side of this show was so dumb, it implied that the planet in some way didn't like or want them there.

I think people had a problem with Space above & Beyond, for the same reason Star Gate Universe didn't do well, they were both too realistic, too dark, & showed too much of the dark side of humanity. However, this is what life in war time, weather in space or on a planet is like. Many people hated the way EA&B ended, because only two cast member survive, but that happens in real life, heck whole squads of 12 or more men get killed in battle. True Sci-Fi fans tend to understand this.

I find it interesting that, now after this show has come & gone, there is more evidence that growing up in a sterile environment does weaken one's immune system. So, children growing up in a sterile space station could develop some form of space sickness, like the little boy on the show.

I think part of the problem with earth 2, was they introduced other human characters besides the crew from the original ship, if memory serves me correctly. I I also think having the commander or was it the doctor be a spy for the corporation back on earth, was rather misguided. I think having another crew member do that would have been more believable, sort of an undercover agent. Other than that, the ruffing it on a new planet after crash landing was vary realistically presented.
