"She (Margaret Howe), was teaching this particular dolphin (Peter), how to count in English. There were very interesting things that would happen. He would learn to count from one to ten. Then you'd give him a sequence of integers, say three, four, five, and he'd give you the next one (six). And then finally he'd change the rules, and you'd give him three, four, five, and he'd give you four, three, two, one, ... count backwards... ha, ha, ha!" {Dr. John C. Lilly} ~~Dolphins think creatively~~

interesting! - anyone who loves dolphins should be aware that the New Zealand National/ACT/Maori Party Government last year refused to support a bill introduced by the Green Party that would have helped save the last remaining indigenous 100 or so Maui dolpins in the world and last remaining 7000 or so indigenous Hector dolphins in the world - and refuses to put in place the laws that researchers say are necessary to save these species
