3 projects in the Economic Stimulus Package, the California State Coastal Conservancy would spend money converting abandoned industrial salt operations back into natural wetlands. The salt marsh mouse likes natural wetlands. Corps of Engineers and Oceanic/Atmospheric Administration wil evaluate proposals. The wording for all spending was changed to eliminate the earmark moniker, it is still there, and you can be sure it will go where Pelosi wants it.

1 I read in 'who runs the government that there was no truth to it. If it did happen, I agree, it has nothing to do with stimulus and should have it's own bill. The right wing Wash Times didn't say how much land, but it could be worth it. We need more wetlands, and the only way to stop idiots from building on land seems to be to buy it.
