I got the book yesterday. Can't wait to read it.

Susan Powter started an avalance (in a good way) when I read her first books. I don't have politics of stupid (I have 2 order it and maybe wait a long time because I live in Denmark) but it sounds like a great eye opener.
I read "stop the insanity" and that was the eye opener 4 me. 10 yrs later I am now a vegetarian.
It's actually Bjørn Lomborg who made me "JUMP" in2 vegetarianism. I have only been 2 1 of his lectures about his book "cool it". I absolutely adore him. He's the greatest.

But the really important question is: would you have been able to lose your weight with this book? I really think not.

I think you missed my point here. I think not too. I had surgery because it was my last option. HOWEVER, I struggle (and so do many others) with the behaviors and choices now that I'm over a year out and able to eat more regularly. If I had started reading this book earlier, I would have fed my body the nutrients it so desperately needed, and I'd be well on my way to eating and thinking in a much healthier way right now. The book says what we ALL need to hear - surgery or not. :)

Got the book. Read it. Totally motivated! So I'm going to start eating better foods and moving! My lifestyle is obviously not working for me, so I'm gonna try and change it. I figured I'd stil go through with ym WLS consultation and testing but try and lose some weight in the mean time cause they're going to require that any way. We'll see how I look and feel in a few months when I get an actual surgery date. Thanks for recommending the book, Taunia!

YAY! I'm so glad she's having a positive influence on you. I heart her! It's all common sense, but sometimes you just need someone to say it loud and clear for you to remind you to be better to yourself. I tend to start each morning by reading/watching something of hers and it makes a huge difference in the choices and behaviors throughout my day. Best wishes to you!

I have to admit, I've been on the fence with Susan Powter's program but been watching her channel. Silly huh? I can see and feel your enthusiasm about her, in fact, I can see your old self returning back again. Will you be sharing with us your journey following Powter's vision? I hope so, I would be very interested and maybe take that "leap" and join also. My down fall is the moving. I don't feel the energy or the desire yet. Best Wishes! ~d~

Thanks for your comments! There are things that Susan says that I disagree with (obviously, the whole WLS topic!), but I *am* very motivated by her straight talk and information. I have already started to see and feel the changes in my body, my energy, and my life by swapping out the old bad habits, taking out all-protein, and switching to a well-balance, whole food approach. . I'll definitely post more on that, and thank you for your comments!
