It's an interesting project, but I hope you realize that it would be just as effective if it only lit up the appropriate bin rather than push it out. That would save you the cost/effort to create a moving robot and just put an array of LEDs behind the bins.

Love your storage solution but for the people who aren't 'beginners' in this field I wish you would go a little more in depth on how you hooked everything up behind the cabinets and other things.

A project similar to this was outlined in Cory Doctorow's book Makers. If you found inspiration from that book, you should mention it. Otherwise, awesome project!
