A mercruiser 3lt engine (4 cylinder) starting for first time after winter. Quite a lot of smoke. It has a nice sound in my opinion.Boat engine starting on land running from a hose for cooling. The propeller (despite the fact that it spins slowly) is not connected to the drive shaft, if it was it would spin very fast and be dangerous.

  • @ABOlsen69666 Thanks for the advice, we usually trim it down as far as we can but over the winter there was a small problem with lowering the trim.. and we didnt want to force it down, in the end we just lubed up the metal in front of the two small anodes and with a little coaxing it went down fine and no problems since then... Thanks for the advice in future, i usually try to trim down as far as possible anyway but will make sure i do it all the time.

  • You will damage your u-joint when you are running the engine with the drive raised like that. Trim it down before you start the engine.
