Career Chase #1 February 25, 1998

This is footage from my first storm chase. Nothing to exciting but it is the chase that started it all. At the time I was a freshman meteorology major at the University of Oklahoma. That day I attended one of Dr. Bluestein's map room briefings where I learned of the potential for severe storms in SE OK. Around 3pm storm developed near Ardmore, OK and I hit the road.

I wished I had a camcorder for my first career chase. I saw 2 tornadoes that day and wasn't able to film them. I bought a camcorder the next day and filmed a tornado within 2 hours from the time I had purchased it. I had initially planned to get some experience setting up on the storms. I thought it would take a good number of chases before I would even get a glimpse of a tornado. I saw 4 more on the third day I chased. May 22 thru the 24th of 2008 was very good to me. I saw 4 in 2009. Good vid.
