  • A very special light lyric soprano who was adored by her public worldwide and rightly so. She is an exceptional Marguerite. The English National Opera is a poorer place without her graceful presence. She alone deserved the title ' Britain's Favorite Soprano' as audiences could not get enough of her. She was also utterly reliable and respected by her colleagues.

  • She is an amazing and somehow underrated singer and actor who has the voice of an angel and a highly talented actor who is good in whatever i have seen her . Plus she looks better in her late forties than most women do in their twenties.

  • I saw her many times in London in the late 1970s and 1980s.

Manon, Gilda, Mirielle, Violetta,Romilda etc Handel Mozart Massenet Verdi all wonderful interpretations.

She is a lovely artist and lovely human being.

  • Singers are usually best in middle age. The voice reaches maturity in the mid to late 30's and is best in the 40's.

  • British soprano Valerie Masterson's great interpretation of the Jewel Song from Faust. She is older here but her Marguerite is very expressive and dramatically sung, she has a style all her own and has the perfect lyric voice for the role. I love her gown and she can still sing marvelously even in her middle age. What a brilliants singer, gifted not only in opera but in operetta namely Gilbert & Sullivan

  • A great singer, always a pleasure to hear !

  • Delicious as ever!!

  • my dear Valerie again. I love hearing her whenever I can. Thank you so much
