Why it is so important to lobby your MEP

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) are vital in the fight against Europe's devastating trade deals. They can slow down or even stop Europe's free trade deals altogether - deals that will help big business but bring increased poverty, environmental destruction and misery for hundreds of millions of people.

MEPs are also the only part of the EU that is directly accountable to the people of Europe, so they are essential to getting our concerns heard.

European elections are on 4 June so now is the critical time to get them to listen. We want MEP candidates to pledge to speak up against unfair trade policies if they are elected, then we will hold them to their promises after the election. Campaigners right across Europe are asking the same of their MEP candidates, and together we can force the EU to end its love affair with big business.
