Jaki, one of the BEST drummers that ever lived.

i don't like the ''post-1973 Can'' very much, bu i have to admit that some parts are just stunning, like his one

Not my fave era from Can, I prefer the '68 - '73 stuff - but shit this is good! When I first put on the Landed album (which this is off) I was underwhelmed. Then this came on. It has such typically incredible drumming from Jaki Liebezeit and the whole track moves t such a pace...breathtaking. For me, the one of the highlights of Can's entire 'post-Damo' era.

HOLY SHIT

Even when they're doing "fusion," they're still droning. This is a good thing, by the way. The only bands who I have heard consistently hit that drone that pulls you out of your body like an oyster from a shell are Can, the Velvet Underground, and Magma.

this is like holy fuck but a lot better lol

@dirtbag1713 Maybe just a little bit. It could also have some Mahavishnu influences too. Jazz rock was big back then.

Jaki what the fuck?!?

I remember this from the time, and thinking WTF is that guy doing to his organ? It was shorty after this that Irmin Schmidt broke his leg and the tour was cancelled. It was like Beefheart dumping Woodstock. How different things coulda been. Irmin Schmidt is remarkably small for such a crazy guy.

Jaki Libezeit is the SHIT. those grooves are unstoppable.
don't hate my guts but this almost kind of reminds me of bits of the album"blow by blow" from jeff beck

Vernal Equinox is from album "Landed" published same year as "Blow by blow" (1975). It's music era when jazz fusion, jazz-rock became popular...and when people were playing as crazy. You should check out band Isotope, song "Illusion", for example, same year 1975.
