Guys,the horse isn't whipped. It is either snapped in the air or on the ground to encourage the horse to go away from the 'scary' sound. Duh.

Overusing the 'scary' whip sound as done here will cause him to become 'whip sour' and he will no longer to respond to the 'scary' sound. Duh

The trainer isn't being cruel....but the horse is confused because he doesn't like the sound of the whips.
