Mike has terrible taste, he was kind of an asshole, but the notion that he "broke" Brian or "broke" Smile are 100000000% bullshit. It's tiring. His dad fucked him up real good as a child. Fact. Yet all Mike ever did to Brian was say, "I think these lyrics aren't right for this band - we're going to alienate our fanbase." He was NO MORE critical than Carl was at times.

Show me any valid source by someone who was THERE that says Mike Love induced mental illness in Brian and I'll show you a green dog.
