Proper job, simple and easy to understand, many thanks.

youve gotta hate all these tacho rules

Today when i downloaded my card on Tachomaster an infringement appeared. I definately had a 46 minute break yet tachomaster says i had only a 26 minute break?! My printout also clearly states that i had a 46 minute break! Tomorrow they want me to sign some declaration to admit that i have broken the law. I might even lose my job! My printout proves i am innocent! What should i do please?

so you don't have to make a daily printout and keep them for 28 days for the authourities that be to check them if you happen to be stopped ?
-
Thanx for the instructions... I have to teach a driver and this is really helpful.

Does anyone know how to download to a compnay card on the siemens?
-
This happens when you dnt allow your driver card to log into the head properly, normally drivers should insert their cards then continue to do their walkaround check for the day, when returning to the cab the card will be logged in and you wont see the driving without card error. what tends to happen is drivers do their walkaround checks (or dont) then place their cards in the head and proceed to driver off immediatley before the system has chance to log the card in. digitaltachographsDOTcoDOTuk

you can just leave it as it is. when you stop the 'wheel' sign will automatically change to 'hammers'. notice it when you pull up to stop at the traffic lights or something. as soon as the vehicle stops the 'hammers' come on. you have to manually change it to 'bed' (break) though so don't forget to do it otherwise you'll sit your 45 minute break with the tacho recording it as 'other work'.

I get the feeling you think about the same of the Stoneridge VU as most people. What's worse for someone like me is that to download data from one takes on average 30 to 35 minutes every month (56 days), whereas the Siemens takes about 3 to 4 minutes!

I've been using the Stoneridge version, the manual entry system is a nightmare - isn't there a Hitatchi version too?

Unfortunately the Stoneridge Digital Tachograph Vehicle Unit is not as 'user-friendly' as the Siemens VDO. which is the one I have used in the clips. As far as I know there's only three manufacturers at the moment: Stoneridge, Siemens and Actia. I don't know of a VU from Hitachi.
All the best
