@elros93 While it is true that some Americans can be intolerant "foreigners", the same holds true for all countries; I doubt you can name a country with more ethnic diversity than the U.S. Within a country with so much diversity, there is bound to be some conflict. Yet I have never seen nor been a part of any bullying of certain people because of their ethnicity at my school. Just as you do not wish for Indians to be stereotyped, do stereotype U.S. schools on the basis of an isolated experience.
