Star Alliance is based on code share and market interest. It has nothing to do with safety. Passenger has their own choice on individual airlines within the Star Alliance.

How many airlines are bigger than Turkish Airlines in the world?

turkish airlines have a bigger airplane fleet from others, If you are making much more flights than others, your accidents will be more of course. If you analyze flight/accident ratio, you will see that Turkish Airlines is more secure.
