About 78 turtles were spotted on a runway at KJFK, or Kennedy Airport in New York City. This is the recorded ATC conversation and chaos that ensues. The actual recording is like 8 minutes long, but all of my video software wont put the entire thing on, no idea why.

  • Staff: "Attention passengers travelling to Seattle, your flight has been delayed due to the fact that turtles are on the runway, we do apologise for this inconvenience and hope to get you out of here as soon as possible."

Passengers: "TURTLES?! What kind of pathetic excuse is that?"

  • @RellyOhBoy This audio is from 2009 and it happened again in 2011. So, I guess the fences at JFK stink.

  • Kennedy tower we've got a Turtle strike.

    :).

  • i hate turtle delays

  • JFK has the best controllers ever.

  • This is to be expected from time to time. After all JFK is right off Jamaica Bay Which is a designated Wild Life Refuge....

Who knows....The natives just might decide to seize the airport one day....

  • Tower: Turtle 2, expedite takeoff.

  • Turtle Traffic lol

  • We are going to crash--get in your shells!

  • TURTLE: i thnk we're at takeoff speed
