Bombs level civilian houses as the Indian Army tries to flush out suspected militants. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/project-kashmir This is a journey to one of the most beautiful, yet dangerous places on Earth. Two American women, one Muslim and the other Hindu, sneak cameras into Kashmir—a place where different faiths mean ongoing war between India and Pakistan. Their mission: find out what makes their peers choose homeland over preserving their own lives. As pressures rise, emotions run high and their friendship is tested.

PROJECT KASHMIR premieres May 18, 2010 on Independent Lens, a weekly series airing on PBS. Hosted by Maggie Gyllenhaal, the acclaimed series showcases powerful and innovative independent films. Presented by ITVS, Independent Lens is broadcast on PBS stations nationwide. http://www.pbs.org/independentlens/project-kashmir

  • Its justified & that's for two reasons. One, the terrorists would have killed people anyway...its much better for the army to destroy some property than to bear the loss of both -- lives & material at the hands of the very same terrorists. Two, a large number of these "civilians" give refuge to the terrorists...sometimes, under the influence of Pakistani masterminds, their own family members join the terrorists in the name of "Jehad" & when they face the consequences, they blame the government.

  • @aashish1703

WTH!! So who replaces all that is lost? Is someone going to replace the home and all that was in it? It"s time that these people become civilized!!

  • man ....PBS tell me one thing...if a militant was sitting in my home.....i feel it is important to kill him in a way that civilians are not hurt n their is minimum casualty on security forces...!!! the forces has done the same.here....if the structure of the house is damaged in the process.... who cares...??? any country will do this ...why the hell sensationalize this?

  • karma is a bitch
