Australian group Tarney Spencer .
With their 1st album release in Australia & England... the self-titled album is the lesser known of the 3 albums. A great sound it was but re-makes redone on "Threes a crowd". For their stunning next album from 1978 it didnt tarnish the sound at all, only enhancing it.With so many great songs.... including "Takin me back","capital shame",remakes of "its really you" & "maybe i,m right" a great listening experience.
The follow up album was also an amazing album."Run for your life " included this tune , "No time to lose" from 1979,a hit for them that also received quite a bit of airplay in the Usa.
Unfortunately after producing one more album, A & M records cancelled their contract that included another 6 lps that were to be created.
However, Tarney Spencer helped other artists on the record label
.....to create their albums eg Leo Sayer, Cliff Richard,(particularly their involvement in Cliffs 1979 & 80s return to hit pop records)
some songs for Olivia Newton John & many others.
They also helped 80s group A-ha by producing their hit song "Take on me"
Tarney Spencer band,under-rated but most likely, a welcome addition to almost any 70s & 80s music collection.
This has always been a favorite. No mention in your write-up of how this was the backbone for Cliff Richard's rocking pop attempts. The bridge on this song absolutely kills.
