Trey Anastasio describes how Phish used the vocal melodies of "Oh What a Night" in the creation of their own "Weekapaug Groove".

  • he is saying that Mike thought the words were "tryina make a woman match your moves" after a show in weekapaug. so they turned that into weekapaug groove.

  • @Nuthinsweet Not a lot of information is conveyed in that static. You can hear the melody of "Oh, What a Night" and that's about it.

And I quote from the Phish companion 2nd edition, "Many fans have heard 'Trying to make a woman match your moves' in this song, perhaps in a (futile) effort to glean meaning from the songs meaningless lyrics."
