Hey, Sorry to hear that your mom hasn't been accepting of your identity. I hope she'll eventually come to accept you, and recognize who you are. It's understandable that these anniversaries leave you with mixed feelings. You've accomplished so much in this last year, James. Let yourself feel proud and positive about these things. Pursuing your identity. Being clean. Staying connected with study. All brilliant achievements. ...and Happy Birthday James!

@deaddogx Thanks for the birthday wishes. I hope my mom comes around too, but I'm not going to let her bring me down if she doesnt. People can be like drugs too, they can alter your mood and mind. I choose not to let her be my drug.

dude, i'll have 13 years clean and sober on october 3. awesome for us! i remember last year too. making a response video to you about sobriety and other stuff. we've come a long way buddy :) you know i'm always hear for you. i can relate to you on multiple levels, as you can with me. i've worked very unorthodox steps and program, but it has kept me in recovery. do you have a male or female sponsor? i don't have one and go to the lgbt group that meets everyday, but i'm the only trans person. xo

@Zedie36 I remember that too, feels like it happened just yesterday! I'm really proud of u man. U have helped me so much in my recovery, u really have. I have a male sponsor. The great thing about living in a huge city is that I have like 10 diff lgbtq friendly meetings to choose from, maybe u could visit one day. Hope to hear from u soon

@youcancallmethedude  Its a really tough thing to do, and only you can decide if its worth it in the end. I like to think if it is why, if not, why not? Just food for thought, its always best to get a better understanding of yourself and what u need and dont. feel free to email me anytime.

congratulations on your 1 year!!!! wish my sideburns would start comin in like yours. i can empathize with you on the family situation... life is so short and i just want to shake my mom and say "if you want a son, i'm right here... but if you want a daughter... then i don't get a mom and you are going to wait till you die." why can't they see how short life is a pull the stickso ut of their asses?
