  • The idea of speaking English to myself came quite naturally (without reading any guidings, materials on the Internet or someone told me to do it). And now I see this video. Happy to hear that many people do the same exact things.

  • @nnl18 That's really great to hear, my friend!

  • Why do you say [əˈboʊt] all the time instead of [əˈbaʊt]? Your English is good but you pronounce some words weird.

  • @N0zer0 Well... I don't know to be honest with you! It's just the way I pronounce it, and as I've made it clear in other videos, I don't put emphasis on perfect pronunciation. I don't think it's a pre-requisite for fluency, and as far as my speech is understood, I'm fine.

  • I think you should improve your listening skills. You don't have to be such a hyper-correct person who just pays attention to one single sound, which in fact you listen badly. The actor has done his best, and he says it correctly at least to my ears. Besides, it is mutual understanding that we are trying to achieve whenever we convey our message. Anybody in the world regardless of the language he or she uses will be depending on who the speaker is. As long as no misunderstand happens, that's OK.

  • @cahayatek I'm really sorry, but I didn't actually get what you were trying to say in your comment....;-) Are you trying to tell me I should improve my listening skills? And what does the next sentence mean - "You don't have to be such a hyper-correct person..." Anyway, looks like composed by some spam-software so that folks like you can post meaningless comments.

  • @YEKOLFELIJ1 Of course that's the way to go! I've never said you have to choose to speak with yourself over natural communication. I can be done on top of everything else to improve your fluency and especially if you have little chance for real practise. If you live with native English speakers you're in an ideal situation - the more time you'll spend speaking with them, the better for your English fluency!

  • hey buddy i am a ielts student...........dis video is so admirable for me,,,,,,,,perfect idea to learn English without wastage of money

  • Hello Robby. I admire your courage and the effort you have put in developing conversational English skills. I also find your blog very accurate and useful. In my case, Central American living in California, I learnt to improve my American accent by watching TV soap operas, such "Days of our lives"- and repeating along the actors. Then I would tape myself and followed listening to the TV show underground and contrasting it with my tape recorded voice at the same time. Keep up the good work!
