Trains were exceptionally allowed on the new Alcácer variant, because of a derailment on the old line causing the interruption of all traffic from/to the south of the country. The infrastructure was still pending formal certification, but it was possible to activate a contingency procedure. The speed limit of 60 km/h was enforced. Trains were running late but, at least, were kept running.
This new 29 km of 220 km/h single track are intended to be inaugurated on the first weeks of December.

AAh, 1901, what a beast. That horn is only Alsthom. I remember them on the Barreiro-Faro Raps. Load 3 on non ETH couches. 3 hours of pure thrash.
