It all started to go downhill in the 1990's.

@jmjfanss Lucy and Desi, Danny Thomas, Jack Benny, Milton Berle, Bob Hope, Phil Silvers, Donna Reed, would all be rolling in their graves at what tv has become.
-
@blakka91 three were a lot of copy cats to this show....the flintstones was the biggest.

Love the inclusion of the little Buick ad at the end. "And away we go!"
-
The old shows are the best.
The Honeymooners are proof of that.

This is the opening title that was shown from January 1956 through the end of the half-hour filmed series that September; the original filmed opening [October-December '55] showed the interior and exterior of "Kramden's bus" on a busy street, with a Buick pulling next to it towards the end. Jack Lescoulie, Gleason's announcer {and Buick's spokesman on the series}, is heard here- in the syndicated version, CBS announcer Gaylord Avery replaced him on the soundtrack.
