main problem is that ian unlike many other musicians is not afraid to tell blackmore when he thinks hes wrong but ritchie always wants to get his own wayit was the same with rainbow ritchie wanted everyone to do what he said but in dp ian wouldnt take it no more so ritchie just left wish they could get together 1 more time if they could that would be great because i refuse to watch dp without blackmore because steve morse is an imposter he is not a member of dp he is a member of dixie dreggs

the whole gig and interview was done in FINLAND

Yea, musically "The Battle Rages On" is one of the best records Purple has made.
-
Anyway, like many DP fans, I wish that after almost 20 decades of bitterness, Ian and Ritchie would put their diferences aside. I'm sure Ian would have no problem with that, it's just up to Ritchie.

Gillan just said what others didn't dare to say. Blackmore is probably the best guitarist there ever was, but he's a fucking dificult guy and Ian was the only person who had the guts to say "ENOUGH". However, in recent interviews, even other members of the band decided to talk about it. Glover said in an interview that after the Machine Head album, Ritchie became single-minded; even Lord said that Ritchie was weird from time to time. DP is doing just fine after Blackmore quit.

@ozguitarist1 TOTALY agree, Gillian is very overated and delusional
Blackmore has brought more to Rock, than many of that era.
Coverdale showed much more talent in "Come taste the band", which had some superb guitar work by Tommy.

Asshole Gillan! Without Ritchie Blackmore now none of us would know who the fuck you are!
-
@motherjelly12 Guitarist Aleksandar Zivojinovich from RUSH?
-
Gillan is a spineless twat but WHAT a voice. Purple rules.
-
it was blackmores compositions that gave purple their signature sounds. Gillan was just another singer full of self importance.
JOHN GLOVER????

It's too bad that Blackmore and Gillan could not get along. They wrecked Deep Purple every chance they got. Neither of them knew how to work with people.
