Great video....If I may add something to this..While throwing a left hook pivoting your foot is a good way to get more power in your hook. This is great for boxing. In MMA and kick boxing this is a bad idea since this will leave yourself susceptible to getting dropped by a leg kick. So for guys in MMA try not to pivot that foot.

@ttubeheadd Drill your defense like crazy. Get a friend and drill your defenses to to punches at slow speed and light contact till your defense is really good and also your comfort able with contact etc
THANK YOU- very informative! you have great explosive power! i would love to see more videos on how to get explosive like that.. thank you very much

thats a very good lesson but still, this is all theory, if you get a good punch to the face you will forgett everything and start cutting loose, so my question is how can i keep calm and focused ??
ttubeheadd 2 months ago
@ttubeheadd Practice. Sparring and getting punches is the only way you're going to learn how to be calm while you're getting hit and trying to hit back. These videos will give you the skills you need to win a fight and learn how to defend yourself. But if you want to learn how to be calm and focused during a fight, you have to get in the ring and spar.

You do a great job of explaining the anatomy of each strike, starting with what leads it and what is actually moving. Most people see a hook as an arm movement, when you've clearly explained it comes from your hips and back, which is very important.
Subscribing to you has been the most enjoyable experience I've had subscribing to anyone on youtube.
