indianabuki- as the assistant director on this show, I assure you there was no plagiarism. Im sure anyone who stages this as a radio play will have similar blocking, since there are notes in the original score from the 1939 production. I spent many long hours with Koran coming up with the characters in this production "on" and "off" stage, and the performers created a lot of the blocking through improvisation. To claim plagiarism, check your spelling, is insulting to everyone involved.

here is the deal- i do understand that this idea is not new BUT the staging was almost step by step, entrance by entrance-MINE I got out my score just to make sure and by golly, the stage manager could have used my book and staged the show. So while it is not new- it is total plagerism by Koran

Odd, when I was Noel Koran's GTA at Ohio State i directed Old Maid with the same concept and I watched and was amazed at just how similar my production was to his. HMMMMM Too bad he cannot come up with something new and fresh and perhaps HIS!

That's so funny, I did 'Old Maid' with the same radio show concept about 3 yrs ago at Texas State University - San Marcos...complete with radio commercial jingles written by the music theory class as an extra credit contest...lol...We had so much fun with it and it really looks like you guys did too!
