"Someone to Watch Over Me" is a song composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin from the musical Oh, Kay! (1926), where it was introduced by Gertrude Lawrence. It has been performed by numerous artists since its debut and is a jazz standard as well as a key work in the Great American Songbook.

  • How great she was. Can you believe Ella Fitzgerald thought Sarah was the greatest singer

she ever heard. Sarah said the same thing in reverse about Ella. Now there's a NO LOSE

situation. I'll take them both. What an era to have grown up ln as far as entertainers goes.

You'll never see that happen again. The're mostly all gone. Thats sad.

  • @EdGomide Amy Winehouse style of music was Jazz in a new way but she did songs like these as well. She did a good job with her covers of songs like these. Her voice sounded like to me that it was suppose to be in the era of such greats as Sarah Vaughan, Etta James, Billie Holiday, and Ella Fitzgerald.

  • amazing voice......both my Mum and Grandad use to talk about Sarah Vaughan

  • Other than Ella & Sarah, I cannot imagine ANY singer of today, EVEN able to touch these angels!!!! Etta maybe, but ANY singer of today, could NOT touch these Singers' shadow....NOT in a MILLION years, what with their "voice enhancements", otherwise, they would just be some singer in a shower stall!!! Ella & Sarah are ABSOLUTE magic!!!

  • Watch over you....always

  • I'm singing this in my voice class.. I hope to sound half as smooth as she does...

  • The picture fades out and in.

  • :D LIKE

  • Wow!

  • This is real singing not over done R&b of today

  • Always pleasing, Sarah made original choices that I felt like were always there even if they weren't written.

  • hey, molly! don't fret, their music has kept them here. they're not going anywhere if you want them to stick around.
