  • @linkthewarrior No, it's not just you. Powerline network adapters suck. The ones I got even messed up my DAB radio, and after I got rid of them one of my neighbours got a pair, and messed up my DAB radio again.

  • Is it just me, or is the HD video a bit laggy?

  • Yes you can but the only good way I foudn after years of lookign was the "HDjuicebox" thing.

  • Why not just use a Powerline system that is built to do it? Link justhdmi.co.uk have a good one

  • 0:13 LOL you said it, a 'screaming mess' is exactly the description of power line adaptors! because anyone wanting to listen to their radio within 500 meters of the power line adaptors installation will hear just that on their radio! unless they are tuned to DAB in which case it just won't work.

    Dreadful tech

  • Mains wires were never designed for this so they will cause interference in your area and down ADSL speeds.

They will wipe out FM and DAB radio and may even cause a problem to local airports control system. Hard wired or wireless is the only way to go....

  • Wiring designed for AC mains 50/60Hz is not apt for the conduction of RF energy without it acting as anything other than an aerial for these devices.

Mains wiring is not screened/balanced as required for network applications - it is flawed technology that dates back 80 years

Fails proper testing to EN 55022 1000x

Another fail thanks to EU + unfit OFCOM -It's 'never mind the laws just keep the sheeple happy with technology' profiteering

Has been known to slow ADSL

Google "greedy PLT" / "EMC PLT"

  • @tardedZnerfZgun

    yes. Obviously.

Read the EMC regulations, and you'll see that they're illegal.

  • PLAs are really radio transmitter / receivers and breach s116 /117 of the Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006 in the UK. I have used PLAs to communicate wirelessly, even talking to a friend in Australia from my laptop connected to a generator and not connected physically to the mains in my house - but the energy radiated from the pla on the generator made a perfect connection to the pla connect to my router in my office..

  • @Ayrshore yes but a very very large company like amazon would not sell anything iligaly would they?
